My career as a Complementary Therapist came out of the blue and was not something that I had planned or even thought about! In my early 20's I was working for a corporate gas and oil company in central London, earning a good salary and living an exciting life in the city and spending many evenings after work in the bars and restaurants that surrounded me and then BOOM! my world fell apart when I was told that my Dad had cancer. I spent the next 2 years learning about and living with what this entailed and trying to find a way to cope with it all.
I found a local cancer support group and went along for a consultation and was told that they felt that talking therapies may not be what I needed at the time and that maybe I should try massage therapy as a way of helping with my stress and anxiety. I had no idea what massage therapy was at this point or how it would help me. However, I agreed to go along and how glad I am that I did.
Heading to my first session, I had no idea what to expect but was greeted by a lovely lady who took me into her therapy room and prepared me for my first treatment. It was amazing. I felt something that I had never felt before, something calming, coming from a place deep within me. After the treatment, we had a chat and the lady told me that there was 'something about me,' and that she felt that I had responded well to the treatment. She then said something that I will never forget, that I 'should learn massage therapy because I would be really good at it.' As you can imagine I left that day thinking and feeling all sorts of things. How could she know this about me? What did it all mean?
As I continued with my course of treatments with her I became more and more curious and when at home I started to copy some of the techniques she used on me on my flatmates, who loved it! I started mentioning it to my Dad who brushed it off and paid little interest, even when I asked him if I could try it on him to see if it helped with any of his pain. Then one day, after being bedridden and fed by a tube into his stomach, he asked me if I would massage his legs as they were sore. I very gently gave him a short massage and to my delight it helped and he was converted! During the rest of his illness he would ask for me to massage him. To this day I am convinced that not only did it help with the pain but also provided him with a positive touch, which was something he was lacking due to all the medications, procedures and lines his body was enduring.
Seeing first hand the impact it was having, made me more curious and I started looking around for a massage course. I enrolled on to a year long Diploma at the Clare Maxwell Hudson School of Massage and was due to start in April 1999. I was very excited and couldn't wait to get started. My Dad was really proud and thought that it was a great idea. Unfortunately, he became very ill before I started the course and passed away a month before it began. I was devastated at his loss and thought about putting the course on hold as I did not think I would be able to study during such a sad time. However, something told me to keep on, to gain the qualification and to do it for my Dad and so I did. I qualified as a Massage Therapist the following year and was delighted!
Over the past 20 years, I have continued to add to my toolkit of therapies and not long after qualifying as Massage Therapist, I studied with Tanmaya Honervogt to gain my Reiki Levels 1 and 2. In 2008, I qualified as a Reflexologist after studying at the Oxfordshire School of Reflexology. I studied under Denise Tiran, the internationally-renowned authority on maternity complementary therapy and gained a Diploma in Clinical Reflexology for Pregnancy and Childbirth and then went on to work for her company, Expectancy, where I taught midwives pregnancy massage and reflexology in pregnancy. I hold additional qualifications including pregnancy massage, fertility reflexology. I am also a Baby Massage and Story Massage practitioner and instructor
As a complementary Therapist I have supported clients struggling with wide ranging physical, mental and emotional issues. My work is approached holistically by treating the whole person rather than individual issues, symptoms or conditions and treatments are tailor made to meet the needs of my client’s individual requirements.
I hope my story provides you with inspiration and the willingness to look further into your own health and wellbeing, encouraging you to explore the wonderful world of Complementary Therapies.
I would love to welcome you into my practice and share with you the amazing therapies that I have discovered, the knowledge and skills I have gained and the work that I am so passionate about - all of which are my Dad's legacy!

Reflexology is a foot therapy whereby light pressure is applied to different areas of the feet. These specific areas, or reflex
points, correspond to different areas within in the body. When pressure is applied to a specific area of the foot it is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding part of the body. Reflexology can support many common conditions by working holistically and treating the whole body. Below are some of the conditions that can be supported by a reflexology treatment.
Sinusitis
Hay Fever & allergies

It is usually safe to have Reflexology alongside conventional medicine, however you should always check with your GP before booking an appointment. It is also good to note that Reflexology is not a tool for making a diagnosis for a medical condition.
